Option 1 (one active week and one additional week): Underwater Dance and Underwater Modelling Retreat from 14th September – 21st September 2024 plus free extension week. The trip includes a total of 14 days.

Option 2 (one active week and one extra week): Free week from 14th September – 21st September 2024 and MerPeople Retreat from 21st – 28th September 2024. The trip includes a total of 14 days.

Option 3 (two active weeks): Underwater Dance and Underwater Modelling Retreat from 14th September – 21st September 2024 plus MerPeople Retreat from 21st – 28th September 2024. The trip includes a total of 14 days.

Option 4 (one active week without an additional week): Underwater Dance and Underwater Modelling Retreat from 14th September – 21st September 2024 or MerPeople Retreat from 21st – 28th September 2024. The trip includes a total of 7 days.

Option 1: EUR 2,999 (around USD 3,300 or AUD 4,900). This offer includes the Underwater Dance and Underwater Modelling Retreat and an additional week with no planned activities. The trip includes a total of 14 days.

Option 2: EUR 2,999 (around USD 3,300 or AUD 4,900). This offer includes a free week and the MerPeople Retreat. The trip includes a total of 14 days.

Option 3: EUR 4,199 (around USD 4,600 or AUD 6,800). With this offer, you will actively participate in both the Underwater Dance and Underwater Modelling Retreat and MerPeople Retreat. The trip includes a total of 14 days.

Option 4: EUR 2,399 (around USD 2,600 or AUD 3,900). With this offer, you will either take an active part in the Underwater Dance and Underwater Modelling Retreat or in the MerPeople Retreat, without an extension week. The trip includes a total of 7 days.

Accompanying persons who do not take part in the courses and photo shoots receive a discount of 10% on the stated prices.

A deposit of 20% is due immediately after booking. The course fee of EUR 1,000 (around USD 1,100 or AUD 1,600) is due 90 days before the start of the trip (this will not be refunded in the event of cancellation by you). The balance is due 30 days prior to departure.

For whom is the MerPeople Retreat suitable?

Basically everyone is welcome to our MerPeople Retreat who has a passion for the underwater world and wants to gain new experiences. We want to create a place where like-minded water enthusiasts can connect, learn and go home with hearts filled with love and memories that will last a life time. Additionally, you will receive stunning photos, videos and underwater content.

To take part in this MerPeople Retreat you must be able to swim well and confidently. In addition, we recommend general basic fitness, because swimming in mermaid tails can be exhausting. However, no free diving, scuba diving or modelling experiences are required.

No matter if you are just beginning your underwater adventure or if you are a professional, nobody misses out at our MerPeople Retreat. Depending on your personal level, we offer as much support as needed.

Since we firmly believe that mermaids and mermen come in all sizes, shapes, colours, ages and genders, there are no visual criteria to meet. However, participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian.

Photo Shoots during our MerPeople Retreat

In addition to having fun, connecting with nature, learning and sharing experiences etc., underwater photo shoots are another highlight during this retreat. You will be captured in pure flow underwater showcasing what you have learned during the retreat. It will be interesting to see your own transformation throughout the week. The underwater photo sessions are your chance to showcase all your new underwater skills.

Create a unique underwater content portfolio with breathtaking underwater images. To achieve this, our experienced team is always by your side. Throughout the week, you will get support on dance, embodiment, modelling and breath-work. We know how to accompany underwater models of all levels of experience. Because of this, we are certain, that we will create magical content together.

After the retreat, you can choose your favourite photos. Shortly afterwards you will receive the fully edited and high-resolution version of your underwater photos. You can then use these photos for private use and for self-promotion, for example on social media or on your websites. Please note that a model release must be signed so that we can also use the images.

Which Team accompanies the MerPeople Retreat?

We have been organising international MerFolk Retreats since 2013. Accordingly, we have quite a bit of experience in the field of underwater modelling, mermaiding and underwater photography. Our entire team has won various prizes and awards over the years. So to speak, you get to work on site with the “Crème de la Crème” in this field. It is not yet certain which photographers will accompany this journey. Here we introduce you to the whole team:

Mermaid Kat, Founder and Professional Mermaid

Mermaid Kat, the founder of Mermaid Weeks, has been working as a professional mermaid since 2012. She is a trained scuba diving instructor, free diving instructor and mermaid instructor. Kat is a world acclaimed underwater model, known for her unique underwater content of swimming with sea creatures such as whales, dolphins, sharks and crocodiles. She loves passing on her experiences to participants and to observe their development during her workshops. Furthermore, Kat is a Dream Life Mentor with the mission to help women build an independent freedom based lifestyle they are in love with!

Video Team:

Jens and Melli Drygalla from “D Image Factory” accompany the events with the video camera, capturing all the moments of joy, healing and embodiment. They not only create the souvenir video of an unforgettable retreat, but also like to work with participants on individual video ideas. In addition, both are trained lifeguards and Melli also works as a mermaid instructor at Mermaid Kat Academy Germany. At the World Shootout 2023, Jens was in the finals in the “Underwater Video” category.

Underwater Photographers:

Konstantin Killer started underwater model photography in 2012. Together with Mermaid Kat, Konstantin offers the Underwater Modelling Workshop in Germany several times a year. He has been an underwater photographer at Mermaid Weeks in the Maldives, Egypt and Thailand. Konstantin and Mermaid Kat have worked together for various fashion magazines and have been repeatedly accompanied by television crews in Germany. Several times, Konstantin has won 1st place in the “Underwater Fashion” category at the World Shootout.

Ian Gray is not only Mermaid Kat’s husband, but also an award-winning underwater photographer. Among other things, he won 1st place at the International Diving Festival PAF 2023 in the category “Pool and Creative”. Ian loves working underwater with all kinds of people. Above all, he enjoys working with “newcomers” who are not yet very experienced in underwater modelling. His passion is to support his models with advice and action and to actively support them in developing more self-confidence and posing security.

Do I need Travel Insurance for the MerPeople Retreat?

We strongly recommend that you take out insurance for this retreat. Please note that you must also sign a liability release before you can participate in our activities.

Can I bring my Partner or a Friend to the MerPeople Retreat?

Partners, friends and other companions are of course very welcome to join the retreat. They can either participate in all activities or just join those that interest them. Furthermore, the surrounding area have other activities to offer.

Accompanying persons certainly also have the opportunity to select 10 photos from the trip. However, they can also assign these to the participating person.

If an accompanying person is not interested in either our training sessions or photo shoots, they will receive a 10% discount on the total price.

Where will we be accommodated during the MerPeople Retreat?

Diving at clean reefs, kite surfing and surfing on a turquoise sea and evenings under a starry sky, coupled with an exceptional environmental profile, characterize the world of the sports and lifestyle hotel “The Breakers”. The entire team at The Breaker is committed to protecting its unique environment and is continually implementing new, eco-friendly solutions to protect the multitude of species in our beautiful bay. For this reason, Breakers is the ideal accommodation for our MerPeople Retreat.

The Breakers – Diving & Surfing Lodge is ideally situated on Somabay’s magnificent house reef. The well-equipped diving center “ORCA Dive Club” is directly connected to the hotel. Most of the guest rooms offer excellent views of the house reef, the lagoon, the house reef jetty and the open sea. In addition to 173 modern rooms, it offers various facilities such as a restaurant with a view of the sea, a beach bar, a roof terrace with a panoramic sauna, a roof bar and an open-air cinema. A fitness center and a heated freshwater pool are available to relax after a long day in or on the sea. The massage pavilion with the Thai massage therapists as well as the hairdresser and beauty salon, which ensure further well-being, also offer relaxation.
